Boxing Day and More

We ventured out, widening our circle by buying an Oyster pass. It is the pass that we use to access all buses and trains (the tube) so now we are not dependent solely on the areas that we can physically walk to. Hopefully get off “the beaten path” and away from the crushing crowds.
It is interesting to see centuries old buildings with new modern building built right up to their outside walls.

Don’t have a cell phone in your pocket and need to make a call? The famous red telephone booths are still on many corners ( but most will take credit cards nowadays.

Our first tube ride, which was so crowded that we had to pull Tom’s coat in tight so the doors would close, took us to Piccadilly Circus.

Night fell, early as we have just passed the shortest day of the year, and the area became ablaze with it’s holiday finery.

It has been cold all day and the weather prediction had expected snow but it is not snow. It is rain and it’ s coming down hard so we are quickly soaked. Time to head in for some dinner and get out of these wet clothes.
