We are staying outside of the city and taking the train into the center.
It is a short, very fast ride.
We are dropped off in the center and immediately cimb on a canal ferry. Sebastian and Inez want to view the Biennial Contemporary Architecture and we want to see as much of Venice as possible in our short amount of time.
We go to the last stop of the ferry and begin the walk back through the streets of the city.
It’s “rush hour” in the canals. The gondolas are lined up to go thru the narrow side canals. It looks like Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. I thought they sang while they moved you along the water. No singing here. How disappointing. My bubble has been burst!
it’s very hot and humid. We decide to take a break.
We are told we can’t leave Italy without sampling the “national drink”. OK!
Tomorrow we are on the road again. Back to Salzburg. I am hoping there is better weather than when we came through on our way to Italy earlier.
