We drove over the bridge spanning the Missouri River from Nebraska into South Dakota. I wouldn’t usually make mention of such a small detail but this time entering into a new state is a landmark for our trip.
We have crossed many, many bridges, even bridges from one state into another. What is different about this is that we are entering into the last “new state “ of our trip.

We had bought a map of the US, one that many RVers display on the exterior of their RV to show the world all the states that have traveled. We have our hung inside because it is our own personal accomplishment.
When we started this trip nearly 2 months ago we had planned to travel across the northern states of the US to Maine, down the east coast to Florida and back across the southern states.
Little did we know that 2 storms would hit the southeast and destroy so much area. We had to adjust our plans and were only able to go south as far as West Virginia before we had to head west again.

The map we had purchased would not get filled as we had planned. We set our goal to add Missouri, Kansas and South Dakota. Coming across that bridge into South Dakota was the last sticker for this trip.
We will make another trip, in the future, to capture those last remaining state stickers
