What is it like to live in Gladys?
It’s a blast! It is such a world of experience away from home, where we live in a house with a much larger footprint.
We definitely do not camp. We glamp. We stay in lovely, picturesque settings in the comfort of our own home.
I start the morning with a hot chai tea, my own concoction, complete with freshly whipped milk.
Tom cooks us fabulous dinners, with fresh ingredients.
I have even used the great outdoors as my sewing room.
At the end of the day we have a comfortable bed waiting for us.
There are many “chores’ that need to be done, both when we arrive at a camp and before we leave in the morning.
We have to prepare for “ an earthquake everyday”, because as Rod, who sold us Gladys, said “each day on the road is like your home experiencing a major earthquake”. He is absolutely right. Everything we have used while “docked” has to be put away and things in closets and drawers has to be secured and packed safely to omit breakage and banging sounds while on the road. We have to hook and unhook to electricity and water every day. A couple times a week we have to empty our gray and black water. Daily tire pressure has to be watched as well as all the fluids. Sometimes it’s just not easy.
But, it’s our “home”. It brings us safety and respite at the end of a day and during the days we get to have a new adventure.
